Information Sharing Workshops 17/05/2010

 

Aimed at: People who work with children and young people who will be completing a CAF and their managers and supervisors

Delivered by: This is an initiative led my Harrow Children's Trust Information Sharing Steering Group

Format: A 2 hour interactive, practice based workshop

Aim: To increase understanding, knowledge and skills in sharing information and completing CAF in the context of child centred partnership working

Learning objectives/outcomes: By the end of the 2 hour workshop you will know/be able to:

  • Have a better understanding of the four key components of Information Sharing:
    • CAF
    • Resource Directory: How to identify and engage partners
    • ContactPoint
    • Lead Professionals: Roles and responsiblities
  • Know where and how to access all relevant paperwork, guidance and protocols to assist you in completing a CAF sucessfully
  • Understand the CAF process and how it differs to a referral
  • How and complete a CAF and transfer information electronically in a secure way
  • When to complete a CAF, appropriate thresholds
  • How to share information (Data Protection Act)
  • Opportunity to discuss real cases and ask questions
  • What to do when conducting a cross-borough CAF

You will receive:

  • A List of ket contacts so you know who to speak to if you have any questions/queries
  • Fact sheets and FAQ's
  • Copies of key documents and resources to assist you in sharing information and carrying out a CAF 

You will have an opportunity to:

  • Network and work with colleagues from other services (bring you business cards and/or service leaflets with you to hand out!)
  • Bring your questions and queries to the workshop. If we are not able to answer all questions during the session it will form part of the online Practice Forum that we are developing
