| It is essential that any concern or allegation of abuse made about a professional or volunteer working with children is reported at the earliest opportunity for joint decision making by partner agencies in accordance with the London Child Protection Procedures. This will ensure that any allegations are dealt with fairly, quickly, and consistenly in a way that provides effective protection for the child and, at the same time, supports the person who is the subject of the allegation. Ensure that you are aware who the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) in your area is and contact them immediately for advice and guidance when dealing with an allegation.
